How do I shrink the carbon footprint of journeys?

Tackling unnecessary mileage – is an essential part of reducing CO2 emissions. You can also do a lot to minimise waste during the journeys that have to be made.

Plan trips and driving routes to avoid traffic congestion - Getting stuck in heavy traffic dramatically increases CO2 emissions per mile travelled. Use route planning tools in advance and set radios to receive traffic alerts. It is also worth considering that the quickest route could also be the longer route and so CO2 emissions could be higher.

Drive less – Encourage drivers to think about the trips they make and to use alternatives to
driving such as video conferencing or home working. Promote car sharing, especially where a
number of employees have to go to the same meetings.

Develop a corporate travel plan - Travel plans help businesses assess and simplify their travel
needs. Smaller companies can pool resources with neighbours to share costs and increase their
target audience The Department for Transport offers a comprehensive "Essential Guide to Travel
Planning" at its web site at: www.dft.gov.uk
What is the
Alternative fuels and vehicle technology

In response to the environmental impact vehicles have and Government legislation, technology and fuel types are being developed on a continuous basis. It is worth remembering that many of these developments require higher demand levels and infrastructure enhancements to be truly effective and offer a mainstream proposition

Vehicle development

Car manufacturers are constantly improving the efficiency of conventional engines using techniques such as advanced combustion control, automatic stop-start, regenerative braking and
lightweight materials. This will significantly reduce emissions from diesel and petrol over the next
few years without requiring radical new technologies to emerge.

Alternative fuels

Bio fuels emit less fossil-derived CO2 per mile, or are made from renewable sources. By 2010, all
retail fuel sold in the UK will contain a 5% of renewable 'bio' fuel, which is mixed prior to
distribution. This approach does not require any enhancement to engines and doesn’t affect prices at the pump. It is possible to run vehicles on higher concentrations of biofuel. However, the vehicles may have to be modified to prevent engine damage. There are also warranty implications as well as the issue of whether there is a sufficient refuelling infrastructure.

How fuel cards can help your fleet reduce CO2

Although careful selection of vehicles and fuel types play a major role in reducing emissions, fleets can still miss out on CO2 reductions if they do not closely monitor the performance of drivers and vehicles.

Fuel cards are a powerful tool when it comes to driving down CO2 emissions. They allow fleets to
capture actual fuel consumption and so emissions, which enables them to plan and manage their
CO2 reduction programmes. Arval provide a suite of reports for use by Fleet Managers. Using information obtained from Arval fuel cards high pence per mile figures and inefficient drivers can be pinpointed. This allows
action to be taken quickly, before costs and unnecessary CO2 emissions mount up.

There are many additional benefits of using a fuel card

The cost of fuel has risen dramatically. Today, it can account for as much as 25% of your entire fleet expenditure. Our fuel card is a simple, effective way to control this cost and keep paperwork to a minimum.

Arval offers the leading fuel management service in the UK and more than 1.2 million of our fuel
cards are now used in the UK. These are just some of the benefits you will expereince from this service.

The cost-saving alternative to pay and reclaim

If you currently re-imburse your drivers on a fixed pence per mile rate, you may be paying them
too much. Fuel card reporting gives you the actual fuel cost per mile. So, you could save substantially on business travel costs by paying staff the real cost of the fuel.

Easy access across the UK

Drivers can use fuel cards at 95% of the major UK filling stations where the AllStar logo is
displayed. This includes all the leading fuel brands, motorway services and low-cost supermarket
sites. With such a large network of fuel stations to choose from, your drivers won't waste time
and fuel searching for somewhere to refuel, therefore reducing their carbon footprint.

Manage your fuel costs through management information

You can quickly find out where your fuel spend is going at any time with secure access to reports
over the web. Not only does this information enable you to set fleet policies and monitor
compliance, you might even pinpoint potential savings too.

Taking the hassle out of invoice processing

All your fuel costs appear on a single consolidated VAT invoice. Breakdown by card and cost
centre enable you to reallocate cost and produce reports with ease. What is more, the invoice is
approved by the HMRC for tax records. So, there is no longer any need to process individual till
receipts, saving you valuable time and resources.

Secure and flexible

Advanced security features, such as the ability to detect suspect patterns of transactions, make
fuel cards safe as well as convenient. And, we can block the use of lost or stolen cards within
moments of you reporting it to us.
You can also control how the card is used, restricting transactions to fuel, oil and vehicle washes
for example. You can even decide whether to allocate cards to drivers, vehicles or both, giving you flexibility as well as control.
Tips and advice

Taking care of the environment has become a priority today. Many generations did not realize how large an impact people were having on the environment. Today a great deal of damage ha been wrought upon the Earth and people are looking for ways to help it heal. Many different inventions that have helped to modernize mankind have unwittingly been a detriment as well. Electric tumble dryers are no exception.

While they helped to speed the process of doing laundry they were also helping to add to the problem of global warming. So, what can you do to reduce the impact that you are having on the environment? By using a clothes airer you will make a big difference in the size of your carbon footprint. An airer has little to no impact since it has no emissions at all. Where the manual dryer is hard on the environment during its creation and when it is used the clothes airer has no emissions to add to the problem of global warming.

Another aspect to clothes airers is that many can be found that have been made from recycled materials. This can also take a great strain off of the environment by keeping the materials out of landfills and putting them to better use. The airers of today are made out of either wood, polycarbonate material, or metals all of which are highly recyclable. This means that if any were to happen to your airer it could be recycled itself.

Why not consider using a clothes airer and helping the environment rather than continuing to increase your carbon footprint? It is both easy to do and you can feel better about taking care of the Earth so future generations can enjoy it as well.

One in five drivers is suffering from “Green Guilt” according to research by Prudential.

There appears to be a trend that those who live and/or work in the city are more sympathetic to the problem of pollution. Whereas, in direct contrast, those who live rurally are said to be less likely to worry. Do we take our environment for granted; the answer to this question seems to be, unfortunately, yes.

3.5 million drivers confess to owning 3 or more cars, this would send the average carbon footprint rocketing skywards. There are some benefits to be had by decreasing your carbon footprint, cheaper motor insurance is just one of them.

So what can you do to make your carbon footprint smaller; Why not consider switching your fuel to join those who already benefit from cheaper tax and insurance in the diesel owning portion of the population. Diesel engines are typically much more fuel efficient than their petrol counterparts.

Ask yourself the questions; “Could I manage with a smaller engine, could I car share, can I take the bus? And you will find the answer to these questions is more than likely to be “yes”.

There’s also the option of converting your car to run on Liquid Petroleum gas.

This is a BI product of off-shore oil production and can be commonly sourced at most large petrol stations. It is seen as a good stop-gap between high emission petrol engines and a future environmentally friendly fuel source. On average it will cost you half the price of petrol (although returning only half the fuel economy); the advantage to the environment outweighs the negative aspects due to much lower emissions.

So when you decide to next swap your car, consider changing to a more environmentally friendly engine. Who knows, you may even save money on your tax and car insurance.

The conclusion it seems, has to be, what can “you” do to help the environment?

  Carbon footprint is one of the latest buzzwords that is used by the press and the media but it is not always explained as to what it means. Our carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide that we are directly or indirectly responsible for producing and emitting into the earth's atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is regarded as a greenhouse gas which when absorbed into the atmosphere in large quantities can be extremely damaging to the environment and be a contributor towards global warming. Global warming is the warming of the earth's temperature. This may sound appealing to those wanting hotter temperatures, but it would actually be disastrous. This is because it would cause the ice caps to melt which would cause the sea levels to rise which could end up flooding a lot of land that is close to the sea. There are many ways that we can work to reduce our carbon footprint. We can start to consider the transport that we use. Do we fly a lot? Do we drive a lot? Do we need to use these methods of transport? It could be that public transport could work just as well for us as a car. It may also be that we could take our holidays in our own country. We can start to purchase more eco friendly products. These could be products that have not travelled long distances to reach us. Or they may offer the ability to offset the carbon that was involved in the manufacture of the product. Carbon offsetting is the process of working to negate the carbon that was emitting during a process. This could involve planting a tree or investing in a renewable energy plant.

In today's society the environment has become an important subject, we are always being asked to "do our bit" to try and reduce our "carbon footprint". There are several options on the market to choose from if you wish to lower the impact your usage of IT has on the environment.

Firstly there are computers designed with low-power components which consume less electricity. Within the last two years a new category of PCs known as “netbooks” have gained popularity. These are small notebooks which typically include a low-power Intel CPU that consumes as little as 2.5 Watts of power. The payoff for using energy saving components is a battery life of up to 7 hours, compared to a typical laptop which will last a maximum of 2 hours; this means less plugging in to recharge and a lower carbon footprint as a result.

Due to the runaway success of these “netbooks”, PC manufacturers like Dell and Asus are now starting to release desktop variants of netbooks called “nettops”. These desktop PCs are extremely compact with typical dimensions of 22cm by 17cm and have a power consumption of around 20 Watts, which is 90% lower than a typical desktop computer.

Another option for saving energy is using a “thin client”. A thin client is a small, low-power computer which is connected to a remote server that performs the majority of processing tasks for the thin client. The server can also have software installed on it that can be accessed by the thin client; such as an office suite or accounts package.

There is also a new, revolutionary option for going green and reducing your organisation’s carbon footprint - Miniframe SoftXpand, a multiseat computing solution offered by Lucid IT Services. SoftXpand transforms a single desktop PC running Microsoft Windows XP into up to six fully independent computer workstations using standard monitors, keyboards and mice. With SoftXpand you can easily lower your organisation's carbon footprint. Rather than having six separate workstations all requiring their own power source and generating heat, SoftXpand only requires one computer to be switched on, which reduces power consumption by up to six times.

SoftXpand is based on a simple fact; today’s PCs are so powerful that the vast majority of applications use only a small fraction of the computer’s capacity. MiniFrame’s Multiseat computing software SoftXpand taps this unused capacity so that it can be simultaneously shared by multiple users, spreading out the cost of the PC, and providing six times the number of seats for the same money. SoftXpand's unique resource sharing & intelligent balancing system allows the full utilization of a PC’s power and cleverly allocates resources. Modern Video cards are equipped with a powerful Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) and Video Memory (VRAM). SoftXpand uses this power and automatically balances it between the workstations according to the applications’ needs.

SoftXpand lowers electricity consumption drastically; a single SoftXpand machine will use 1/6 of the electricity of six standard PCs - which helps to reduce your electricity bills and carbon footprint. As a result of these lower power requirements, it also generates less heat; a single SoftXpand machine will produce 1/6 of the heat of six machines – meaning you won’t need to turn on the air conditioning as often. And when the system reaches the ends of its useful life, only one PC will need to be replaced instead of six and less hazardous computer equipment will end up in landfill.

Global warming is said to be the greatest challenge of the 21st century.
With a quarter of UK carbon emissions emanating from road transport, fleets
are at the forefront of efforts to drive down CO2.

This message was underlined by the Budget in March 2008. Alongside new carbon-based tax measures designed to raise more than £2 billion from vehicle users, the Treasury published a major report on the future for low carbon cars – the King Review.

If formally adopted by the Government, the King Review is expected to become the roadmap for
cutting CO2 emissions from passenger cars by an ambitious 30% in the next five to ten years. It
urges the Government to create a framework in which low carbon vehicle technologies can go
from ‘shelf to showroom’ as quickly as possible and where fiscal incentives and public education
create a ready market for new, low emission products.

Currently, the Government’s policy is to ‘encourage the polluter to pay.' Drivers can expect rising
BIK taxes on greenhouse gases and higher operating costs for environmentally inefficient vehicles, for example higher congestion charges and VED. For businesses that reduce their carbon footprint there will be opportunities to take advantage of tax breaks, as well as a lower fuel bill!. For example, a fleet of 200 drivers, averaging 15,000 business miles per year produces over 700 tonnes of CO2 during a year. If the fleet reduced its annual emissions by 20%, through measuressuch as mileage reduction and buying lower-emission vehicles, it could save over 140 tonnes of CO2 (and around £60,000 in fuel purchases).

How do I know what my fleet's current CO2 is?

Wanting to reduce your fleet’s carbon footprint is one thing, but knowing what it currently is, is
essential. Fuel cards are a powerful tool in this respect, they enable fleet operators to capture and
analyse data on CO2 emissions, worked out on the actual fuel consumption of every vehicle, and
the fleet as a whole. This gives companies a starting point, and from this, plans and targets can
be set and monitored over time.

What can I do to reduce my fleet's carbon footprint?

There are a number of ways to reduce carbon emissions, mainly surrounding vehicle choice,
maintenance, driver behaviour and the journey taken.
By looking at each area in detail it will allow you not only to reduce CO2 but to enjoy additional
business benefits - such as a reduction in repairs, wear and tear costs, an improved driver risk
rating and a lower fuel bill.

What can my drivers do to reduce their C02
footprint?

Your drivers play a very large role in determining your fleets' CO2 emissions. They do this through the way they drive; their attitudes and expectations; and the cars they choose.

Let drivers know that reducing CO2 is an important goal for your business, and that they are
expected to drive efficiently and avoid making unnecessary journeys. Include statements to this
effect in the fleet policy and driver handbook.

Drivers must start to realise the link between fuel consumption and C02,

it is therefore essential for them to understand and act on the following points:
Check your revs – Change up between 2000 – 2500 rpm. Revving your vehicle’s engine wastes fuel; Avoid fast getaways at the traffic lights – accelerate slowly when the light turns green. The faster you accelerate the more fuel you will consume. Avoid revving your engine before you turn it off.

Anticipate road conditions and drive smoothly – Avoiding sharp acceleration and heavy braking. This saves fuel, tyre wear and reduces accident rates. Drive smoothly – aggressive driving increases fuel consumption and produces more CO2. Avoid accelerating or braking too
hard – this can reduce fuel consumption by more than 10% in urban areas.

Use air conditioning sparingly – As it significantly increases fuel consumption.

Drive away immediately when starting from cold – Idling to heat the engine wastes fuel and causes rapid engine wear. Turn the engine off when you’re in a queue for a long period of time, or waiting for someone. Restarting a modern engine uses effectively no extra fuel.

Avoid short journeys – A cold engine uses almost twice as much fuel and catalytic converters can take five miles to become effective.

Avoid excess idling – Idling gets you nowhere but still burns fuel. Turn the engine off when you’re in a queue for a long period of time, or waiting for someone.

Stick to speed limits and make your fuel go further – Driving at 85 mph rather than 70 mph uses 25% more fuel. It may be tempting to drive fast over long, empty roads but fuel-efficiency drops significantly over 70 mph. Use cruise control if you have it – on major roads this helps you maintain a constant speed and, in many cases, will improve fuel consumption.

Plan your journeys – To avoid congestion, road works and getting lost.

Check your tyre pressure regularly – Under-inflated tyres are dangerous and can increase fuel consumption by up to 3%.

If you’re stuck in a jam, switch off – Cutting the engine will save fuel and stop emissions.

Plus – before you drive:

Remove roof rack when not in use - they increase drag significantly. If fully loaded, a roof rack can push up emissions by 30%. Keep your boot or back seat clear of unnecessary items that add weight to your vehicle.

First of all, the term carbon footprint refers to a measurement of greenhouse gases released by human activities based on the amount of carbon dioxide units that is produced. This helps scientists and government decision makers gauge how severe a particular human activity affects the environment by contributing to the so-called Greenhouse Effect.

You can compute your own primary carbon footprint, by taking into account your fuel consumption in your household and your travel activities per year.

In the first category which is fuel consumption per household, you should factor in the following:

•electricity consumption per year for your household

•natural gas consumption per year for your household

•LPG (liquified petroleum gas) consumption per year by your household

•household oil consumption per year by your household

•coal consumption per year by your household

•and the number of people who live in your household.

For the second category, which involves travel activities per year, you should factor in these:

•total mileage of your vehicle per year (for those who own their own private vehicle)

•total mileage of your second vehicle per year (for those who have an additional vehicle)

•miles traveled on the train per year

•miles traveled on both local buses and underground transportation systems per year

•miles traveled on long distance bus and coach per year

•yearly travel by air, in terms of short-haul return flights, medium-haul return flights, and long-haul return flights.

You can use an online carbon footprint calculator (like that found on http://www.carbonfootprint.com/calculator.html) and enter in all these factors. The online calculator will do the computing for you so you can see just how extensively your activities affect the environment by contributing to carbon dioxide emissions.

Once you know how your activities affect Mother Earth, you can start taking steps to minimize your contribution to carbon dioxide emissions. This is very important, particularly since African and Asian countries are revving up their economies which means a proportional increase in fuel consumption.

Some things you can do are:

•look for a green energy supplier who will supply power to your household. (A green energy supplier relies on renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric and wind power, which wreaks less havoc on the environment);

•turn off electricity-dependent machines if you really do not need to use them, or at least minimize usage of these items;

•minimize your central heating by up to 2 degrees;

•minimize water heating by up to 2 degrees;

•use a timer for your central heating at home so that it turns off when you leave home;

•only turn on the washing machine and clothes dryer if you have a full load of laundry to put in;

•try reducing water to heat in the kettle if you do not need that much hot water in the first place;

•do not overcharge your cellphone;

•defrost freezers and refrigerators periodically, even before ice builds up;

•try shopping only once a week, making bulk purchases so you can cut down on car fuel consumption;

•and minimize use of the tumble dry function – rather try using a clothesline and the sun to dry laundry.

There are many other things you can do to minimize your carbon footprint. Leave less of a carbon footprint and you will leave behind a more stable environment in the wake of your activities.

The moving industry has been around for a few hundred years, however, only now is it changing its ways and focusing on moving green. You will find that there are plenty of ways to make a green change in your moving strategy. A great way to begin help is to offset the carbon footprint of your move.

Carbon Footprint?

Almost all aspects of moving, be it packing your items or driving across country, can leave a carbon footprint or just have some type of environmental impact in general. Carbon footprint is measured in units of carbon dioxide, and calculates the impact that human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of green house gases produced.

One of the first carbon footprints that moving creates is from the materials used for packing such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap, and foam peanuts. The production and lifecycle of such materials will devour precious resources such as fossil fuels and trees. At the end of their lifecycle, or perhaps even before, these materials will end up in a landfill. During your long distance move, be sure to reuse and recycle packing materials when possible.

One carbon footprint that isn’t necessarily in our hands comes from using non-renewable resources like oil to produce gasoline used in moving trucks. If your move is from coast to coast, this can leave a large footprint. However, vehicle manufacturers are changing their ways and producing more fuel-efficient vehicles.

Greening Your Move

You may be feeling a bit weighed down by all this information, but try not to get discouraged. Some of these things are not in your direct control. However, you can help by greening your move a little.

Start with the items you no longer wish to keep. Try not to rent a dumpster to discard those items; Instead, find other homes for them. You can start with a yard sale or just put them on the side of the road with a “Free” taped on. If there are remaining items, donate the rest to a local shelter, Goodwill, or Salvation Army.

There are a few websites that offer a way to offset your long distance move. For example, Begreennow.com allows you to calculate your CO2 emissions and purchase renewable energy credits (RECs) as well as funding reforestation projects.

There has been a lot of attention paid recently to a person's "carbon footprint" when people talk about using and saving energy. This popular buzz word has been all over popular media outlets.

What does it mean exactly? The term "carbon footprint" is best defined as the amount of impact that a person and his/her activities have on the environment when that impact is based on the level of greenhouse gases that are produced. That level is measured in carbon dioxide units. There are a number of methods by which a person can calculate his or her carbon footprint: the Life Cycle Assessment, and by the amount of emissions caused by the energy a system uses are the most popular.

Almost every single thing a person does during his waking hours can raise the level of his carbon footprint. Technically, breathing out increases his carbon footprint as the simple act of breathing in and out results in an increased level of carbon dioxide in the world.

Rest assured that nobody is going to figure in your rate of respiration into your carbon footprint. Doing so would be absurd. Instead your carbon footprint is calculated based on the things you actually do and use. When you drive to the shop or cook food, you produce carbon dioxide. The amount of energy you consume as a person, in your house, at your workplace and in transit will all be figured in to your carbon footprint. Be prepared for a large number"people produce an astounding amount of carbon dioxide each day.

Carbon footprints have become more important over the last few years because the globe's climate has changed quite dramatically. Environmental experts have released reports that state that human beings are directly responsible for the increase in carbon emissions and other greenhouse gases that have helped to raise the world's temperature. The world's temperature rose by .6 degrees Celsius in the last one hundred years. .6 does not sound like a huge amount but it has had a large impact. The North Pole is breaking apart as you read this. Syria has more freshwater available than the United Kingdom

Reducing your carbon footprint is easy. The simplest way to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide you produce is to use less electricity. Turn off lights when you leave a room and unplug your electronic devices when you are not using them. Pile on extra blankets instead of turning up the electric heater in your bedroom. Reduce the amount of driving you do.

Another great way to reduce the amount of carbon emissions into the atmosphere is to plant some trees! Trees take in CO2 and expel oxygen. While you cut back on your carbon output, you should increase the amount of carbon converters as well!

You don't have to wait for "Cap and Trade" to pass the US Congress to embrace carbon neutrality. Carbon Credits are a responsible and cost effective way to not only help produce non-oil energy projects, but reduce your corporate costs, engage your employees and gain a Green Marketing advantage over your competitors.

Reduce, Recycle and Reuse are the first part, and below I'm going to give you 5 ways to do it. But if you can't, don't want to, or would rather just write a check then understand Carbon Credits.

Offset Your Carbon Footprint with Carbon Credits

While Reducing, Reusing and Recycling is key in preventing climate change, offsetting your carbon emissions is the next great step in the preservation of our environment for generations to come. The Carbon Calculator Math is below, or you could use a Carbon Footprint Calculator at (www.ecoaidnow.com/Calculators.aspx

To offset your carbon emissions simply means to neutralize your part in the polluting of our environment. In technical terms, a carbon offset is a certificate representing the reduction of one metric ton (2,205 lbs) of carbon dioxide emissions.

Certified Projects are developed such as a reforestation project that reduces carbon dioxide emissions, every ton of emissions reduced will result in the creation of one certified carbon offset.  Â

Since carbon dioxide emissions are the principal cause of climate change, purchasing carbon offsets is key to promoting a greener environment.

When you offset your personal carbon emissions, you are doing your much-needed part in helping to put an end to global warming and climate change. In addition to making the world a better place, you just might also score a few popularity points with your friends and family.  Â

Here's 4 ways to save money while reducing your carbon footprint.

(1) Recycle Toner and Ink Jet Cartridges.  These things, which always run out at the most inopportune time, cost way too much and, contrary to what the big companies than manufacture them proclaim with their "send it in recycling programs" - end up in the landfill, usually in the poorest areas of the world.  The technology and quality of recycled toner and ink jet cartridges in many cases surpasses the original equipment manufacturers...and you get to support a local business like yours when you patronize them.   And don't forget to set your printers to "draft" mode when you're not printing for official communications...it'll save you money and toner/ink.

(2) Use Less and Buy Recycled Paper.  Back in the early 90's when email was gaining popularity we all proclaimed that it was the beginning of the paperless office.  But the paper companies weren't scared.  Paper sales went through the roof because now we had more information to print out, copy and share with each other.   Now there are a variety of document sharing services, including free ones like Google Docs, while allow immediate sharing of and collaboration of documents without having to print out 5 copies for the group to mark up.  It saves money, time and is much more efficient.

Furthermore, as the quality of recycled content paper has gone up to photo quality level and the cost has gone down to below the cost of "new" paper, it clearly makes no sense not to include the procurement of recycled printer and copier paper in your corporate sustainability plan.

(3)    Go Paperless with your invoices. PayPal and Google Checkout both have electronic invoicing capabilities for those of you who process payments via credit card, and for many companies, their PayPal and Google Checkout accounts are tied directly to their corporate checking accounts for seemless, and transaction fee free payment processing.  They both offer a variety of export formats and integrate with popular accounting packages like QuickBooks and Microsoft Accounting. Â

No more 3 copy carbon based invoices, no gas guzzling postmen delivering the mail and no more licking envelopes!

(4)     Recycle Everything. Soda cans, newspapers, used equipment, furniture and materials (if you're manufacturing things) all carry a price.  Aluminum cans trade for around $.80 a pound (32 12 ounce cans = 1 pound) - so figure you can sell them to a local recycler for a bit better than half of that.  Doesn't sound like a lot, but when you have an office full of Red Bull crazed employees or "Diet Coke Fiends" it can actually add up relatively quickly.  Â

List your used equipment on Craigslist or Google for a local company that will pick up and "recycle" your used equipment - or better yet, donate it to a local charity and take the tax deduction.  Goodwill and the Salvation Army will send out a truck to pick up larger items and most likely make weekly or monthly trips through your area.

The Challenge is not so much Global Climate Change, but more of a personal one. Do we want to live in a clean world or a dirty one!  Do we want to be subject to wars over fossil fuels?  Are we, as individuals, stewards of business, operators of government, and elected officials, willing to take action to right the environmental wrongs we might create?  The global becomes personal.

Buying Carbon Offsets is one way to deploy our resources towards a better Future. The best first step is to always think about the very real consequences of your actions.  Protecting our air and water isn't something that can be taken care of by someone else, we have to do it for ourselves.
